I've just been introduced to Mr Burton and Miss Quinton...our Reception Chicks! We also have Mr Copley, Mr Town, Miss Hunter and Miss Heppner. The chicks are helping our children learn lots about life cycles. They're also very cute!

Cabot Carnival
Thank you for coming along to our very own Cabot Carnival last week. It was fantastic display of colour and dancing enjoyed by all. The costumes looked great and reflected some of the wonderful aspects of the city of Bristol including the Balloon Fiesta and the engineering of Brunel. Thanks Miss Heppner for organising it and thanks to all the brilliant Cabot staff for joining in so enthusiastically as you always do!

Parents v Staff Football Match
Thank you to all the parents and staff who came and joined in the fun of our football match this week. There were some great individual performances from some of the dads and they were unlucky to lose by a narrow margin of 14:5. Better luck next time! Thanks to everyone for making this such a happy event, including all the supporters who came to cheer us on.

Eid
Eid
Mubarak!
Dear Parent / Carer,
As I am sure many of you are aware, many families in our
community will soon be celebrating the Muslim festival of Eid. This festival comes after a very warm month
of Ramadan. We anticipate that the celebration
will fall either on Sunday the 25th June or Monday 26th
June. We understand that if you are
celebrating Eid on the Monday you may wish your child to celebrate with you. If
so then we will authorise one day of absence for religious observance. However, school will be open and we will be
ready to provide learning for all throughout the week as normal.
We recognise that Eid is a very important religious festival
for so many people in our locality and across the world. As a school we would like to be a part of
this celebration. On Tuesday 27th
June we will have a celebration day in school.
We are inviting all children to come to school in their finest
celebration clothes. These might be
special clothes they have received as gifts for Eid or anything else they like
to wear for special occasions. Later in
the afternoon classes will spend some time eating some celebratory food. If you would like to send some food into school
for your child to share with their class you are welcome to do so. Please could you ensure none of the food
contains nuts as we know some of the children at Cabot are allergic to
nuts. Could you please send the food in
with your child to the class in the morning of the 27th June.
Best wishes and Eid Mubarak,
Tom Burton

More thermoplastics from Cabot Pupils
Friday 23rd June
I hope you have had a chance to see the pupils' fantastic bugs and patterned designs captured in thermoplastic in St Agnes
Park. This Friday (23rd June) the thermoplastic design will extend
onto Fern Street. This is to warn drivers that children are playing in the area
and for them to slow down. The road will not be closed but the works will
likely cause disruption to traffic during the day. Please therefore try and
avoid traveling on or near Fern Street by car from 9.30am onwards on Friday. Do
look out for the designs on your walk home or to the park. Please note that
installation is weather dependent.

Sports Day
Skill, speed, stamina, teamwork and healthy competition were all on display at our fantastic Sports Day event, and that was just from the parents!
Miss Thompson made sure that once again, Sports Day at Cabot was a fun day for all. We have some very talented sports stars at Cabot and this was their chance to really shine alongside the whole school who put in maximum effort to every event.
