Fun from Maths' Week continues!

Dear Parents,

I am sure you have heard about all the successful learning during Maths' week. But the fun doesn't stop there. This week we counted up the profits made by each Key Stage 2 class from the enterprise challenge. After deducting costs we can announce we raised over £50 which we will be donating to charity. Well done to all Key Stage 2 classes and thank you to everyone who bought something at the sale.

I am very pleased to see Year 5's Grassheads are growing well.

Building Work

Dear Parents,

The building work is continuing well.  I think the people working on site must be very appreciative of today's sunny conditions following the recent rain. Much of the foundation work has been completed and we can now see the brick work beginning. With a bit of imagination we can start to think how it will look when completed.

Please note, the office is still open and Mr Pring and Mrs Thomas are waiting to help you as usual. You just have to make a bit of detour around the site but it does mean you get a good look at what is going on.

Best Wishes

Maths Week

This week we a celebrating Maths!

Our theme is money. Mr Ross gave us a fantastic introduction assembly this morning. Children across the school will be joining in all kinds of projects related to calculating with money. Our Key Stage 2 children will be taking part in some Apprentice style challenges, hopefully generating some profit which we will be able to donate to charity at the end of the week. At morning break our School Council ran a playtime Tuck Shop, selling fruit and healthy snacks. A great start to what looks to be a very exciting week.

Happy New Year

Dear Parents,

Term started successfully yesterday. We have missed seeing you and your children over the break and we were so pleased to see you all happy and well rested. I am proud to report we had a very good day of learning in school. Your children have been telling us of the exciting things you did in the holiday. I hope you enjoyed some quality family time. It is also very pleasing to hear that many of the children have enjoyed reading during the break. Our new librarian, Victoria Stephenson, begins work at Cabot next week. I will keep you updated about the progress of our new library as well as the many other exciting developments planned for 2014.

Best Wishes
