Dear Parents,
Next week we will be celebrating Book Week at Cabot. We have a range of learning activities we are sure your children will enjoy. On Monday and Tuesday classes will be visiting Foyles' Bookshop in Cabot Circus. On Tuesday evening we will be running bedtime stories. Children will be invited to come back into school in their pyjamas for a story and hot chocolate. Thursday is World Book Day and we are encouraging children to come to school dressed as a character from a book. For a bit of inspiration, the staff have dressed as some of characters from some of their favourite books today. Can you work out who these characters are?

Welcome to Term 4, New School Website
Dear Parents,
It was great to see the children back in school yesterday. They all looked happy and refreshed and ready for learning as we move through the Spring Term.
I would like to share with you that we are planning to launch our updated website this week. It is expected to 'go live' this Thursday. Any feedback on the new look will be very welcome. All the features you have become familiar with such as the blogs and information places will still be there. We hope it will be in a more accessible and attractive format to enable your ease of use.
Best Wishes

Sports Premium
Dear Parents,
Your children may have told you about some of the fantastic sports activities we have introduced at Cabot this year. The government has issued all schools at Sports' Premium Grant. We have used some of our money to engage the services of Paul Roberts, a senior PE specialist who is working in our school alongside teachers to improve sports' opportunities at Cabot. Paul spends some of his day working alongside class teachers as well as co-ordinating competitions with other schools around Bristol. We also have a gifted and talented programme of events. Today some of our Year 4 pupils took part in fencing. They represented the school extremely well and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Ofsted visit
Dear Parents,
As some of you may know, we had an unannounced Ofsted inspection on Friday. This type of inspection is very new. The framework was only published on the Ofsted website today and Cabot is the first school in the whole of the South West region to have such an inspection. The focus of the visit was to inspect standards of behaviour. A report in the form of a letter will follow in about two weeks time. When it arrives I will publish it on the website.
Thank you for your ongoing support, especially those of you who gave such positive feedback to the inspector on Friday.

Girls' Football Tournament
Well done to the Girls' Football Team. They played three matches in yesterday's tournament at City Academy. Out of our cluster of schools we came second, very close behind St Barnabas. Well done girls, you represented Cabot very well. We are so proud of you!

The Comedy of Errors
Key Stage 2 had a real treat this afternoon. We were entertained by actors from The Bristol Old Vic who gave us a full cast performance of Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors. It was loud and funny, just as a Shakespeare Comedy should be!
