OneTree Per Child
Our Year 3 and Year 4 pupils made their contribution towards the citywide one tree per child project today. They went to a very muddy field near Kings Weston and planted some fruit trees. Good work Cabot children!

Children in Need Celebrations
Our children have a wide range of heroes. We celebrated some of these in our special Children in Need Assembly hosted by The Little Mermaid (Miss Pearce!)
It was great to hear children tell us about their heroes, including scientists, police officers, explorers and a couple of mums!

Children in Need - Friday
Dear Parents,
This Friday is Children in Need day. At Cabot we will joining in with the charity fundraising by inviting children and staff to dress up as their heroes. They can choose a person from history or a fictional character from a story or maybe someone they know who has inspired them. We are asking children to contribute 50p that will go straight to Children in Need to help with their charity fundraising.
Best wishes

Birds of Prey Visit
We had another visit from Mike and his Welsh birds of prey. Just as last time, the children were fascinated by these amazing animals. It was very exciting for all, especially those lucky children who had a chance to hold some of the birds.
Ujima Radio Broadcoast
I had the great pleasure of taking 5 of our school council members to interview Paul Jacobs live on Ujima Radio this morning. They did a great job! You can hear the broadcast again on podcast via the Ujima radio station.

Science Week
Thank you Miss Pearce for a brilliant Science week. Our theme was The Natural World. Children did all kinds of creative investigations into flora and fauna. There was also a design competition to for our new pond area. Look out for pictures on the class blogs to see the fantastic work as well as the notice board and theme book in the entrance area. Thanks also Steve Backshall for your inspirational words to Cabot pupils. You'll be very impressed with Year 2's rock pool work.

We had a very celebratory day wearing our special occasion clothes. It was great to hear how our Muslim families had been celebrating Eid. There were some very smartly dressed children in school today.
