Nursery Visit

St Pauls Nursery School & Children's Centre

Miss Pearce, Mrs Redwood and I had a lovely visit to St Paul's Nursery yesterday. It was very useful to see the children's learning diaries and gain a good understanding of how they are progressing so we can ensure they make the best possible start next year. We are very grateful to Nursery Staff and parents for making us feel so welcome.

Cabot Engineer Awards

Miss Codling, Miss Pearce and Mr Adrian took Engineering Club to a Citywide Schools competition held at British Aerospace. We had been working on a project to build cars that can travel in straight lines, climb up steep ramps and move in reverse as well as forwards.  There were four prize categories on offer. Cabot pupils came 1st in two of the categories and runner-up in another.

We are extremely proud of our engineers and are very grateful to Miss Codling, Miss Pearce and Mr Adrian for preparing our club so well.

Sainsbury's visit

Term 6 has started with quite a few visits. Look out on the Year 1, 2 and 5 and 6 blogs for details of their learning visits to St Werburgh's City Farm and Aston Court.  This morning our school house captains were invited to help open the new branch of Sainsbury's in Broadmead. We also had a tour of the store and a taste of their bakery products. Also, we were presented with two enormous bags of PE equipment. You should see some of this equipment being used for Sports Day next month.

Best Wishes,

Mr Burton

End of Term 6

Dear All,

I would like to thank all pupils, staff, parents and governors for ensuring we had such a positive Term 5. There were only 22 school days but we managed to achieve so much. There were visits to the Forest of Dean, meeting Jamie Oliver, DT Week and of course, the Year 6 SATs. So many pupils have shown such exemplary attitudes to their learning and have represented the school so proudly. This has only been possible thanks to the continued ongoing support of our whole learning community. Once again we have shown we live up to our Core Values of Partnership, Inclusion and Excellence.

Have a great holiday next week. We look forward to welcoming children back to Cabot on Tuesday 3rd of June for what I have no doubt will be a fantastic Term 6.

Best Wishes,

Mr Burton
