Spring Fair

We might not have had the brightest weather for our Spring Fair but there was plenty to feel happy about inside and out.  Claire Humphreys once again did a fantastic job of organising a brilliant event for us all.  Thank you Claire, and thanks also to all the parents and staff members who stayed to help run stalls or made contributions.

Book character day

Well done staff, parents and children for all your innovative costumes to celebrate Book Week.  I was very fortunate to have my Mr Man outfit made for me by Miss Williams.  A very professional job too!  Do you recognise these characters?

World Book Day Visitors

We had some very special guests at Cabot today.

Our Reception and Year 1 pupils have really enjoyed learning about dinosaurs this year so you can imagine how thrilled they were to meet Andy from Andy's Dinosaur Adventures! Andy read them a story and then showed them a jaw bone from a T-Rex!  We then all joined in together for our favourite dinosaur rap,  "Stegosaurus...Stegosaurus, Stega-Stega - saurus!"

Also, after the Reception class visit last week to the Gruffalo trail, the Gruffalo decided it was his time to come and visit them!  He went for a wander around the school and said hello to each class.

Thank you Andy and Gruffalo for making our World Book Day celebrations so special.

Book Week

Welcome to Book Week.

This Thursday is World Book Day. We will be celebrating all week with a range of reading activities.  Visits to Foyle's bookshop have begun and will continue tomorrow.  Children have been coming back with their special good bags to take home.  On Wednesday we will have our Bedtime Stories evening and on Friday we will have our Dressing Up day.  There's a possibility we might have a special guest visit the school on Thursday.  Check the reading blog on our website for up to date information about our reading activities.

Ofsted report "GOOD"

Dear All,

Today we received the published report from our Ofsted visit.  I am very proud to tell you that we have been judged as GOOD in all areas.  We are very proud of the report, especially the comments noted about the pupils and their attitude to learning.  As you know, teachers, parents, pupils and governors have all been working very hard for a long time to ensure this is the good school our community deserves.  Thank you for all your effort over the years.

An electronic copy of the report can be found by following this link.

A paper copy will be sent out at the start of Term 4.

Have a great break, see you all on February the 23rd.

Netball Success

Well Done to our Netball team for their success at the city wide tournament yesterday evening.  Our girls came second overall and were awarded silver medals.

This is a fantastic success! It means we qualify for the next round.  Remember to check the sports' section of our website to follow the progress of all our Cabot teams.
