Year 5 Bake Off

Well done Year 5 pupils for taking part in your special Bake Off challenge.  First they harvested some apples straight from Whitchurch Community Orchad before being whisked off to Ashton Court to rise to the challenge of making the tastiest Apple Crumble.  The panel of judges were very impressed by the high standard of cooking shown by our children.  Team 2 were the winners and will compete in the next round against other schools.

Oliver Twist

The whole of Key Stages 1 and 2 enjoyed a full cast production of Oliver Twist by visiting theatre company M&M Productions this week.  Children enjoyed this classic tale that covered a range of emotions.  We loved joining in the singing of Food ,Glorious Food  and we were truly gripped whenever Bill Sykes came on  stage.  Many of the children have told us they've been inspired by this performance.  Playing 'Oliver Twist' has been a favourite playground game this week.  We're looking forward to seeing the children do some performances of their own very soon.

The Vikings are coming!

Year 5 had a fantastic Wow Day learning all about Vikings.  As well as dressing up, they devised some detailed instructions about how to make a Viking helmet and model longboat.

A special visitor

A very special visitor came to meet Year 1 and Year 2 pupils on their Wow day.

We were all a bit nervous at first but he turned out to be very friendly.  He seemed to find our jelly very tasty!
