Snowy Cabot

Cabot Primary School

Dear All,

Thank you for braving the conditions to bring your children to school today.  Nearly all the children made it in and we were able to continue 'business as usual' with our teaching and learning. Of course, we did find time for some fun in the snow too. The above picture is on the this is bristol website, and might feature in The Post  this weekend.

I'm sure you'll join me in thanking staff for battling the conditions to come in for your children. 80% of Bristol Schools closed today. We were able to stay open because staff made careful plans last night so they could be sure to get to school on time.  Special thanks needs to go to Mr Copley who did a fantastic job of clearing the paths and making access to the school as safe as possible.

I hope you enjoy the snow this weekend. I look forward to welcoming you back on Tuesday morning, after Monday's INSET day.

Best Wishes

SNOW FORECAST

Snowflake (simply) by rones - bye-bye winter!

Dear Parents,
As you are probably aware, heavy snow is forecast for tomorrow morning. Teachers and staff are making special travel plans to ensure they are as prepared as possible to make their journey to work tomorrow. School should be open as usual.
However, in the unlikely event that not enough staff can make it in to be able to run the school safely, the school may have to close to pupils. If this is the case notification will be made on the school website at 8am.

Best Wishes and enjoy the snow, if it comes!

Panto

Dear All,

It was great to see you back last week. This is just a short term so it was very pleaseing to see pupils prepared and ready to learn on the first day back. We finished the week with a special highlight; a pantomime performance of Dick Whittington. I'm sure your children have told you all about it.

As I wrote in the Newsletter last week, this Tuesday we have our first meeting of our new Family Support Group, run in Partnership with St Paul's Nursery and Children's Centre.  This will take place in the Community Room between 8:45 and 10am.  You are all very welcome to come and meet our Mrs Green our new Learning Mentor and Mukter Abdi, our Somali Family Support Worker. Whether you have problem you need help with or not, come along anyway and say "hello".

On Wednesday the newly formed PTFA will be holding a meeting in the Community Room at 9 am. High on the agenda is planning a Spring Fair.

These are just two ways you can get more involved with Cabot Primary School as we live up to our core value of Inclusion.

Best Wishes
